Tajima are quite uncommon compared to Aizu and Ikarashi. They are quite hard, but rather quick at the same time. With care, they can leave exceptional polishes that tend towards mirror. They are phenomenal edge finishers for kitchen use, terrific razor midgrits, and great pre-polishers. You can transition to any softer finishing stone after Tajima.
This is example has a full, clean surface, but is rather thin. Despite the size it will last a long time as these stones are very hard.
