Nakayama Kiita deserve their reputation as some the best finishing stones money can buy. They are typically fine, clean, fast, and useful for everything from sharpening kanna for kezurou-kai competitions to polishing kitchen knives. 

This example is on the fine and firm side of things. It is suitable for final razor honing, uraoshi sharpening, or hyper keen kitchen edges. Despite being exceptionally fine, it cuts quickly generating an inky black slurry without the help of a nagura. While hard, it is not glassy feeling and is very usable for bevel work. It will leave very detailed clear polishes which will highlight and details in cladding. The core will be a fine kasumi mirror. 

None of the lines can be felt or cause issues during sharpening. The stone shows hints of iromono coloration coming out the sides.
